Software Installs and Licenses (CAD/CAM)

Approved software is in Company Portal. CAD/CAM (SolidWorks, Mastercam) uses network licenses from the license server; 'no licenses available' usually means all seats are checked out or the license service stopped after an update. Post-processors are installed by IT from the Engineering share.

Approved software

Install from Company Portal. Anything not listed needs a request with a business reason.

CAD/CAM licenses

  • SolidWorks and Mastercam use network licenses. If you see 'no licenses available', IT checks the license server for checked-out seats and for a stopped license service after updates.
  • Close CAD when you go home so seats return to the pool.

Mastercam post-processors

Posts are controlled files. IT installs the released post from the Engineering share; Manufacturing Engineering confirms the version.
