SharePoint Department Sites: Getting Access

Access to Quality, Engineering, HR and IT SharePoint sites is granted by group membership after the site owner approves (IT-SOP-01). Customer drawing libraries on the Engineering site are restricted to named people.

  • Each department site has an owner. IT adds people to the site's member group after the owner approves.
  • Engineering > Customer Drawings is restricted: access is per person, approved by the Engineering Manager, because it holds customer-controlled data.
  • Read-only access is the default for people outside the department.
